It has been a while (several version updates) since i have been tinkering with the MT templates, my current stylesheet for this blog still fits well enough.
Today i created a new blog for testing, and noticed that the default stylesheet does not work with Konqueror anymore (It works okay in Safari).
Anyone got an idea why? I currently don’t have the time for stylesheet debugging, so for now i will stick with bloaty Firefox on FreeBSD. Hopefully KDE4 will fix this…

0,00 EUR
I received a letter from my Ex-ISP and wondered what they want from me. It contained an invoice over three nearly empty pages and the total amount of 0,00 EUR.
In the last years i received invoices with a few Eurocents a few times from various Telcos, but this is the alltime lowest. I wonder if they will send me a similar letter every month and i really wonder what will happen on “21. Mrz 2007” (sic!) as the invoice threatens me that they will debit this amount from my bank account.
Citybike distances
Spring has arrived in Vienna and i already used the citybikes several time.
According to the Citybike Website i currently need 14 minutes to get from Alser Strasse to Spittelau (subway U6 needs 6 minutes) and 14.5 minutes to get from Alser Strasse to Museumsplatz (Tram 43 + U2 is not faster than 14 minutes).
Now lets see if i can improve my time in the next weeks.
The real Wow effect
Today i thought it would be cool to stream the TV signal from the Minimac to the Laptop, when i want to watch TV in bed (yes i am currently a bit ill), instead of switching the USB stick and readjusting the antenna etc.
So googling for a streamsolution, downloading CyTV and thanks to Bonjour it just works, Wow! I was laughing a lot, because the first thing i received was a Microsoft Vista advertisment.
Now i really doubt it will be that easy with Microsoft products.
New MT version
3.34 will be committed soon, if this entry appears as it should.
New firewall.
Today i shut down the last computer in my old flat. I have been using 213.225.30.218 for approximately 6 years and now i have to get used to new IP Addresses :(.
With all my computers in the new flat, it is time for a firewall. Since i now have more than one official IP address i decided to try a combination of if_bridge(4) and PF.
The bridge seems to work fine, but PF sometimes drops TCP packets, it should not drop. Yes even if pf.conf did contain only pass rules. Now i am updating to latest stable hoping for a fix.
Another problem i am struggling, nat from the third interface to bridge0 did not work out ot the box.
A fool with a tool…

Lol, funniest commit today, I wonder why nobody noticed this before. And of course i would like to know which tool did this substitutions.
Flying carpet.
Today my red carpet was delivered, so my new flat is now ready for takeoff.
Random thoughts
– I want one of those new black/red billa.at shirts, the Billa clerks are wearing nowadays. They look like a political statement about our new government, black shirts with a small red stripe.
– I felt like a Starmaniac today, when i nearly ran into Arabella Kiesbauer, while she was talking to her mobile on Wiedener Hauptstrasse.
– It is kind of funny seeing everyone in .at freaking out because of a 100km/h wind.
– I moved the last stuff out of my old appartment. So this means we are approximately 50% done with moving. Now i am waiting for my new carpet so i can finalize my computerroom’s content.
Relocation (non-)progress
Unfortunately inode delayed the activation of my telephone number for a week without explanation, from their shop’s progress tracker it looks like they didn’t receive a report from the TA technician and/or forgot to send a notification to Etel.
So i had a couple of spare time today reserved for configuring the telephone system.
I spent the time moving my shell- and secondary DNS/Mailserver to the new flat, which is next to moving the firewall the most difficult part of the transition.
